Fans Submitting Winning Team Names Receive Handsome Prize Package

The new United Shore Professional Baseball League is giving creative fans the opportunity to name the new teams competing in the league’s inaugural 2016 season.

The league will consist of three yet-to-be-named teams playing out of new Jimmy John’s Field in Utica, Mich. Submissions for team names are being accepted now at uspbl.com/name-the-teams.

“Minor league baseball teams have always been known for their creativity in branding,” said league founder Andy Appleby. “We are looking for creative team names that could last for generations in the USPBL.”

Positive consideration will be given to team names that pair well with a mascot, exhibit creative alliteration and/or rhyming and those that have special geographic connections to Utica, Macomb County and/or Metro Detroit.

Submissions will be accepted between now and July 24.

A panel of sports marketing and communications professionals will select the top submissions and put them to an online fan vote atuspbl.com the week of July 27. The fans submitting the three winning entries will be rewarded with a handsome prize pack for the 2016 season.
